Description
ON A BICYCLE TOUR
Our PALMA BY NIGHT offers the visitor a unique opportunity to see Palma’s other face during the later hours of the day and to enjoy a guided bike tour through an urban but yet calm, fresh and silent city. Palma by night means discovering spaces that can be quite crowded during the day – breathing a calm atmosphere at night where the lights of the city are reflected into the sea and the lake in Parc de la Mar.
Just like in our DISCOVER PALMA tour, you will enjoy an eco-friendly journey through the fascinating history of Mallorcas interesting past and learn about this magnificent Mediterranean island on a very educational and dynamic bike tour in Palma de Mallorca. Ancient remains, historical buildings, monuments, stories and myths will be told to you throughout a 3,5hrs guided bike tour where you will bike on bike lanes, calm old town streets, parks and plazas. The strongly dominating medieval past of Mallorca’s old town offers a beautiful contrast to the more modern Palma where habitants, history, commerce and tourism has found its way to live and develop side by side.
Our PALMA BY NIGHT tour resumed:
Our tour starts at one of our 2 starting points (or at any preferred location if its a privately booked tour) where you will be introduced to your tour guide, asked to sign a disclaimer and consent to our bike tour policy. Shortly after you will be handed a comfortable high quality city bike, a helmet (obligatory until 16 years of age) and a basket if you wish. Water can be purchased at our shop. For the night tour we also include 2 bike lights (front and rare) for maximum safety for our riders.
Our tour guide will give you a briefing on the general facts and what to expect of the tour, the timing, procedures and local rules regarding biking in Palma de Mallorca and a demonstration of how the bikes work. We will help you to adjust the bike seat to your height in order to get the most comfortable experience out of your tour. After this we are ready to set off! Our PALMA BY NIGHT tour takes you along the bike lane on the seafront avenue in the direction of the main Cathedral “La Seu”. Along our route we do short stops on many places and tell you interesting facts about the things you are looking at. After a few stops around Parc de la Mar we will seek our way into the old town of Palma de Mallorca where open and spacious esplanades are swopt for beautiful ancient narrow streets and alleys. Old churches and plazas are very abundant in the old town and you will see and learn about several of them. Our tour also includes a little stop at a (still working) convent for nuns that dates back to the 13th and that offers the possibility to purchase a little something edible for the ones who’ve got a sweet tooth. From here we continue to discover the old mainly medieval part of Palma passing by the most popular visitor’s sites in the city and also discovering the wide selection of museums, art galleries and other sites of interest for the curious visitors. Our bike tour includes one (approximately 20min) stop where clients can choose to either stretch their legs and relax a little bit, take the opportunity to take more pictures of details of the city, or purchase and enjoy a refreshing drink, coffee/tea or ice cream. We do our best to adapt the place of the stop to the temperature/climate, group size, time of the year and to the desires of the group.
